Darren Jones

After graduating in Photography, Film and Video from the University of Westminster, I began working in film events, including the Cardiff International Animation Festival, Cinema 100, and the British Animation Awards, before progressing into TV production.

 

During that time I was film editor on TV shows such as The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Cramp Twins, the new Willo the Wisp, and action adventure series Friends and Heroes.

 

My first writing commission came in 2006 on CBBC's Frankenstein's Cat, and I haven't looked back since.

 

My editing background helps me write strong visual stories, with characters who show rather than tell.

 

I like travelling by foot, getting lost, maps (both real and imaginary), and scribbling. Naturally.
